how do you make digital art, like what software and what pc?

hi there

I work almost exclusively with Procreate on the iPad. I just find it to be very user friendly and easy to navigate. For some of my professional jobs I will use Photoshop and my 22" Huion tablet, though, since Procreate’s canvas sizes/layer system are still very limiting. I own Clip Studio but I still haven’t integrated it into my wheelhouse yet because I’m very comfortable with the other two programs. I just know CSP is super robust and has some amazing tools available so one day I wanna try using it more.

As far as pc, I have an all-in-one computer because I really dont need anything crazy powerful since all I use it for is school and work and the occasional game or stream with friends. I’m looking into building my own pc eventually but the market doesn’t seem very good for it right now as far I know.

Hi! Yes, I absolutely will be selling them again. I’m actually working on updating designs so that they’re more cohesive, but I have a TON of leftovers from previous batches that I’ll be selling at discount prices when I reopen my Etsy. I’m hoping to be set up and ready to go by this summer to give myself time to prepare, but it could be a lot sooner. I’m also currently working on setting up a Patreon with exclusive sticker and postcard tiers for people who are interested, but that won’t be for a while. I’ll, of course, make a post whenever these things go live on my twitter, instagram, and here!

hi! please don’t be nervous you’re okay!! and not to sound silly but I don’t entirely know what a notion page is (i briefly googled it and it looks like a work organization site maybe?), but so long as its for personal use and it isn’t a commercial site or being used for commercial advertisement I don’t see why not. I imagine you want to use it as a background maybe? in which case that is completely fine. credit is extra lovely! if you have more info or questions or anything you can always message me off anon, too, i promise I don’t bite. i am just protective of my work since i’ve had a lot of unauthorized usage of it in the past.

Heyo, sorry its been such a long time. I’ve been extremely inactive on Tumblr, and I actually wanted to kind of talk about why.

I genuinely do enjoy this community and, beyond all the jokes about Tumblr, it is a great place to consume media and art.

But I’ve noticed A LOT of my artwork, especially backgrounds and landscapes I’ve made, are constantly used without my permission or are reposted onto other social media platforms. And I know the only place they’re being pulled from is here.

I am so happy people enjoy my art, especially since this is my career and how I make money and what I enjoy doing, but I cannot stress enough how frustrating and hurtful it is to find my work floating around without my name attached to it. And I know this discussion comes up ALL THE TIME with artists, but we are legitimately very distressed about it. And yes, some of these reposts redirect to my tumblr (where it was reposted from), and some times it’s credited somewhere. Do not repost our work! I know you’re trying to be helpful but it doesn’t actually get us the attention you think it does. Redirects are genuinely helpful but I honestly would rather you didn’t take my art and put it somewhere else without me knowing about it. If you like my work, then share and reblog MY POST. If my work isn’t on a social media platform you use and wish it was there, TELL ME. Don’t put it there yourself. PLEASE. I post on Instagram. I am trying to post actively on Twitter. And I will try to be more active here because Tumblr is genuinely better for my fandom and dnd stuff. Pinterest is more understandable, and it does always redirect to my pages so I won’t fuss over that.

I’m really sorry for being “that person” but I am a human being who creates things for fun and work and it’s tough when you keep seeing this sort of thing happen.

If you want to support me, like and reblog the things I post. Follow my other accounts. Commission me if you want to use my art! I can make you custom pieces! I’ll work on opening a shop again and compiling things into digital sketchbooks and art books you can buy for a few bucks on gum road. But please, respect me and my work and don’t repost or use it without permission.

I’m genuinely grateful for all of you who follow me and interact with my work. It’s always so sweet seeing asks in my inbox and I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. I hope no one feels like I’m talking at them, this is just a general shout into the void about how I’m feeling on the subject.

Also, huge shoutout to everyone who comes into my inbox and asks me if they can use my artwork in certain ways, whether that be a desktop background or an icon, etc. I absolutely appreciate this, even if I have to say no some times. I have tons of people who do this and it’s very respectful and I’m grateful for all of you. Most of my art I do not mind people use for personal reasons, but I love that people ask anyways if they’re unsure.

This is a general addition that if you use my art for an icon or background or something, that’s fine!!! A credit in a bio or anything will do if it’s online. I’d prefer you didn’t use my art for personal websites, though.

I actually predominately use Procreate now! I mostly use Photoshop for larger files and cleaning up/editing illustrations some times. (My older illustrations are all Photoshop)

Thank you, thank you!! I get a lot of really positive feedback on my taz poem stuff, and honestly I couldn’t have done it without the authors behind the poems and the mcelroy’s great storytelling in their podcast. I probably wont ever have them  up as prints for purchase, but I’ll potentially stock them as free downloads on my etsy once I get that up and running again!
